Former Weatherford QB Ken Seals enters NCAA transfer portal

After four seasons with Vanderbilt, Weatherford graduate Ken Seals announced he has entered the transfer portal on Sunday. “I am forever grateful for the opportunity this team and university has given me to play the game I love,” Seals said on Twitter. “Thank you to all the coaches I’ve had the privilege to learn from and to my teammates that I’ve had the honor to fight alongside these past four years. The memories and friendships I have made here will always hold a special place in my heart.”

In his final game this season, Seals accounted for two touchdowns on Saturday against Tennessee.

He was 7 of 9 for 61 yards with one touchdown and added 10 yards rushing and one touchdown.

This season, Seals started five games and finished with 1,183 yards passing and 11 touchdowns. He completed 58.7% of his passes, had four interceptions and added two rushing touchdowns.

Seals was a 3-star recruit out of high school.

He started as a true freshman – the only one in the SEC during the 2020 season. He finished the year with 64.6% completion percentage, 1,928 yards passing and 10 touchdowns.

Overall, Seals appeared in 10 games this season.

He leaves Vanderbilt with over 4,000 yards and 28 TDs.

In his final two years with the Weatherford Kangaroos, he had 6,500 all purpose yards and 65 touchdowns. He set a school record with 5,714 yards passing and 53 TDs. He was the #11 ranked pro style QB in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. He had 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns as a senior – helping the Roos to the playoffs for the first time since 2007.
