Euless Trinity great Ollie Gordon voted Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year

Oklahoma State sophomore running back and Euless Trinity grad Ollie Gordon was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year on Wednesday. He is also a finalist for the Doak Walker Award – for the nation’s best rusher.

Gordon was 1 of 3 unanimous All-Big 12 selections.

In their final game of the regular season, Gordon set career highs with 34 carries and five touchdowns while rushing for 166 yards. The Cowboys trailed 24-6 before winning 40-34 in overtime against BYU at home.

The win was the biggest of the season as OSU clinched a spot in the Big 12 title game against Texas.

Gordon leads the NATION with 1,580 yards rushing and is second with 20 TDs. He averages 6.4 yards per carry. He has multiple touchdowns runs in five of the past six games – with EIGHT in back to back weeks vs BYU and Houston.

Gordon rushed for 282 yards vs West Virginia and 271 vs Cincinnati in back to back weeks in October.

During his time at Trinity, Gordon rushed for 2,546 yards and 35 TDs as a senior and was first team all-state. He added 2,000 yards and 28 TDs as a junior. He rushed for over 450 yards during a playoff game vs Allen.

Gordon was a 3-star prospect in HS and ranked in the Top 100 of all players in Texas.
