GM Sports Media Commit Of The Week (10/9): Midlothian Heritage’s Grace Sweeney

In the latest installment of GM Sports Media Commit of the Week, we look at Midlothian Heritage senior volleyball star outside hitter Grace Sweeney.

Sweeney is in her fourth season starting for the MHHS varsity program.

She announced her commitment to play volleyball at Missouri earlier last week.

The Jaguars are 22-16 overall and 8-3 in 8-5A this season. They have won 94 games since the 2020 season when Sweeney came on the scene as a freshman.

As a senior in 38 matches, Sweeney ranks in the Top 10 in kills among DFW players with 531. That leads the team. She also leads the team in hitting percentage. She also has a team high 51 aces and 366 digs.

In four seasons, Sweeney is up to 1,637 kills, 146 aces and 1,126 digs.

Missouri, in the SEC, starts one player this fall from DFW – Grapevine’s Janet deMarrais. She the second 2024 to commit to Missouri this season joining Aledo senior outside Vivian Parker.

Heritage has five more games this season before the playoffs start.
