For the second time this season, Big Daddy Media and GM Sports Media join forces to call play by play action at a local volleyball match.
This week, GM’s own Brian Gosset and Big Daddy Media’s Chuck Licata will be at Richardson HS on Friday for a District 7-6A showdown between the Richardson Eagles and visiting Pearce Mustangs.
Varsity is scheduled to tip at 6:30 PM.

Pearce enters with a 14-12 overall record and 5-1 in district. But since dropping their district opener against leader Highland Park, the Mustangs have won five straight over MacArthur, Nimitz, Irving, Berkner, and picked up a key 3-2 win vs Lake Highlands on Sept. 19.
So far Pearce has played 14 games against current playoff teams and has posted a 6-8 record. Five of those games have been against current district leaders: HP, Amarillo, Forney, Wylie East and Frenship. According to MaxPreps, the Mustangs have won 51 sets against 38 and are 11-9 away from home.
Last year, Pearce won 33 games, most since 2011 and finished 12-2 in district while reaching the area round – defeating SGP in bi-district before losing to Plano West in area.
Meanwhile, Richardson sports a 16-8 overall record and 4-2 in district. The Eagles lost to HP on Tuesday and Lake Highlands on Sept. 12, but have won eight of their past 11 matches.
Richardson has faced 10 current playoff teams with a 4-6 record. Four of those teams are leading their district: White Oak, Sachse, HP and Dallas Wilson. According to MaxPreps, the Eagles have won 44 sets against 27 and are 5-3 at home.
Last year, Richardson won 24 games before losing a close one in bi-district 3-2 against Arlington Martin.
