Just over a month since getting an offer from BYU, Eaton quarterback Noah Lugo announced his commitment to the Cougars on Sunday.
Lugo had committed to UT-San Antonio on June 18, decommitted on Saturday and then one day later chose BYU.
After limited action as a sophomore in 2021, Lugo put up good numbers last season as a junior for the Eagles. He finished with 1,612 yards passing, 962 yards rushing and 30 total touchdowns.
Lugo, who also competes in the high jump and hurdles during the track season, holds 18 offers, which included Army, UNT, Tulane and several Ivy League schools.
“I chose BYU because the family environment and culture,” Lugo told Rivals. “As well as academically they have my degree which is hard to find in any football school. They have a quarterback pedigree that’s undeniable with Steve Young and Ty Detmer at the forefront.”
Lugo is a 3-star dual-threat QB according to 247Sports and is ranked in the Top 75 in the nation among the 2024 class.
Eaton finished 4-6 last season and was tied for fourth in 4-6A, but missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker.
