Days before the Texas high school volleyball regular season officially tips off, one of the top outside hitters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is off the board. Aledo senior Vivian Parker announced her commitment to continue her career with SEC school Missouri, she said in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

“GOD IS SO GOOD!!! I am SOO excited to announce my commitment to Mizzou!! I would like to thank God, my family, coaches, for being the best support system,” Parker said on Twitter.

Parker was a first team all-district selection in 5-5A last season after accounting for 327 kills in 107 sets while leading the team in kills per set. She also had 24 aces, 37 blocks and 465 digs overall.

After a COVID shortened season in 2020, Parker had a breakout year as a sophomore. She had 429 kills, 31 aces, 32 blocks and 489 digs.

Aledo went 31-16 overall and 10-2 in district with a trip to the area round last season. In three years with Parker, the Ladycats have posted 75 wins and either went first or second place in district, going 28-4 in that span.

Parker, who played for Drive Nation in club and now plays for TAV, is a Top 25 player in DFW according to GM Sports Media, which also predicts Parker as this year’s 5-5A MVP.

According to Max Preps, Aledo opens the season next week against 6A state semifinalist Keller.

According to its 2023 roster, Missouri has one player from DFW – Grapevine grad Janet deMarrais, who was an MVP and All-American outside for the Mustangs.
