Riley Wormley, a 3-star running back at Southlake Carroll, was ruled ineligible by the UIL State Executive Committee on Monday. He transferred from Colleyville Heritage in April. He was previously ruled ineligible by the UIL SEC, which later denied an appeal submitted by the family. The SEC ruled Wormley transferred to Carroll for athletic purposes.
Wormley played two seasons with CHHS. Despite playing just five games in 2022, the 5-foot-11 back rushed for 490 yards, 7.7 yards per carry, had three 100 yard games and seven touchdowns.
According to 247 Sports, Wormley is the 32nd best running in the country for the 2025 class and the 51st best player overall in the state in his class. He holds 10 offers which includes Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.
Wormley was expected to give coach Riley Dodge and the Dragons a big boost in the run game after the graduation of All Area star Owen Allen, who produced 2,100 yards and 37 touchdowns.
Seniors James Lehman and Parker Thompson are the top returners at the position combining for 100 carries, 900 yards and 12 touchdowns.
