Top 20 high school softball players from DFW/NTX to watch during the regional finals

The regional finals begin on Wednesday with winners this week clinching a spot in the UIL state tournament at UT in Austin.

13 teams from the DFW/NTX area are playing.

There are eight series that feature one area team.

There are five series that feature two area teams.

Three teams are enjoying their best playoff run all time: Frisco Lone Star, Frisco Heritage and Whitesboro. Two teams are making it back for the first time since the 1990s: Colleyville Heritage (1998) and Van Alstyne (1994).

Denton Guyer, the lone undefeated team, is making its first trip since 2010.

Keller is making its 13th trip overall. The Indians and Decatur are here for the first time since 2019. Justin Northwest, Aubrey and Grandview are here for the second time in three seasons. Emory Rains are here for the fourth time in the last six years and Trenton makes it for the first trip since 2016.

SADIE BECK, SP/OF, KELLER: Tarleton State commit held Flower Mound to just two runs in two games to help the Indians beat the Jags in three.

KAIYA FABELA, C, KELLER: The sophomore came through in Game 1 and Game 3 with the go-ahead two-run single and a first inning two run home run.

AVERY JEFFERSON, INF, DENTON GUYER: ACU signee hit the go ahead two run home run in Game 2 to help the Wildcats sweep Southlake Carroll.

FINLEY MONTGOMERY, SP, DENTON GUYER: Guyer ace is putting together one of the best freshman seasons and has the Wildcats at 35-0.

ABI YOUNG, SP, JUSTIN NORTHWEST: Sam Houston State signee was masterful in a two game sweep against Monterey, allowing three hits, zero runs and 23 strikeouts.

SADIE REID, INF, JUSTIN NORTHWEST: The Harding signee has over 50 hits and against Monterey, broke the program record with her 188th hit of her career.

DENAE VASQUEZ-DICKSON, OF, COLLEYVILLE HERITAGE: The New Mexico signee is a top lead off hitter and brings both power and speed.

NIA SISNEROS, INF, COLLEYVILLE HERITAGE: Sisneros has been great throughout the playoffs and has homered the past three games.

AUDREY RICHARDSON, SP, FRISCO LONE STAR: Richardson came through big time in Game 3 against Dayton. She pitched all 13 innings, allowed one run and then hit the walk off single .

JENSIN HALL, SP, FRISCO HERITAGE: The Coyotes beat Melissa 1-0 in the regional semis behind Hall. In the regular season, the Dartmouth signee posted a 0.26 ERA and 280 strikeouts.

MACEY JONES, SP, DECATUR: The senior hurler is 20-4 with a 1.46 ERA and 254 strikeouts in 163 innings for the Eagles.

MYA CHERRY, SP/OF, AUBREY: Cherry threw back to back 1-0 wins to help the Chaps defeat Sulphur Springs while striking out 20 batters.

KEELI FULLER, INF, AUBREY: Fuller gets the Chaps offense started in the lead off spot. She brings speed on the bases and a great glove at second base.

RYLEE ADAMS, SP, VAN ALSTYNE: Allowed one earned run and drove in a run at the plate in both games against Farmersville.

CAMBREE OAKES, SP, EMORY RAINS: Oakes pitched in both games in Rains’ semifinal series against Hooks. She also produces at the plate.

AVERY HOWERTON, SP, WHITESBORO: Howerton allowed two runs on nine hits and struck out 12 batters in their sweep over Queen City.

BRADI GALLAWAY, INF, WHITESBORO: Gallaway is hitting 0.598 with 18 home runs and 38 RBI along with 55 hits and 15 doubles.

MADI DOTY, SP, GRANDVIEW: The freshman, who won a gold medal earlier this season, has been stellar from the circle and at the plate.

BELLA JETER, INF, GRANDVIEW: Jeter has hit seven home runs during this playoff run for the No. 1 Zebras.

EMMA DUDLEY, INF, TRENTON: Dudley, who is a player of the week this season, is an offensive power for the Tigers.
