Former Burleson quarterback commits to Georgia

Dylan Raiola, who played football and baseball at Burleson, announced his commitment on Monday to continue his football career with national champion Georgia.

Raiola is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the nation among the 2024 class.

He plays at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix.

The 5-star Raiola had 28 offers according to 247Sports, with a several from Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Penn State, Notre Dame, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, USC, Utah and Washington.

Raiola helped Pinnacle to a 9-5 record last fall and a trip to the fourth round of the Arizona playoffs. They lost 37-26 to Gilbert Highland on Dec. 10. He finished with 2,435 yards passing and 22 touchdowns.

Two years ago with Burleson, Raiola and the Elks went 8-4 overall, 5-2 in district and reached the area round. The Elks beat Mesquite Poteet 70-48 in the first round and narrowly lost 28-23 against Lovejoy. Raiola exploded against Poteet for 464 yards on 16 of 23 passing and SEVEN TOUCHDOWNS.

He ended the season with 3,341 yards and 32 touchdowns through the air.

He also ran for nine touchdowns.

Raiola was voted district offensive MVP that season and also district defensive MVP while playing catcher for the Burleson baseball team.

Who goes to a UGA team that’s won back to back national championships, including a 65-7 blowout over TCU in January.
