After a four-game sweep against North Central Texas College, Weatherford College baseball coach Jeff Lightfoot walked away with his 800th career victory.
Weatherford College beat NCTC April 5 and April 7 by scores of 22-2, 15-4, 3-0 and 8-0.
Friday’s games were at home where Lightfoot achieved the mark.
Lightfoot has coached for over 24 years and owns a record of 800-533-1.
The Coyotes are 31-7 this season and 14-2 in conference play. They are riding an 11-game winning streak.
In Game 1 on Wednesday (22-2), Jack Arthur went 3 for 3 with a home run, six RBIs and five runs scored. Robin Villeneuve, Kanon Sundgren and Chase Pendley each drove in three runs.
Arthur is from Flower Mound while Pendley is from Prosper.
In Game 2 on Wednesday (15-4), the Coyotes had 12 hits, 14 RBIs and 10 walks. Charlie Giese allowed one unearned run on three hits and struck out seven in 4 1/3 innings. WC hit five homers (Arthur, Villeneuve, Dayton Tockey, Eddie Calzoncit, Kevin Duran). Giese is from Rockwall, Tockey is from Weatherford and Duran is from Cleburne.
In Game 1 on Friday (3-0), Ryne Rodriguez allowed four hits and struck out eight. He played at FW Trinity Valley.
In the final game, Villeneuve and Pendley each drove in two runs. Garrett McLaughlin allowed three hits with eight strikeouts and one walk in five innings for the win.
