Former Justin Northwest basketball star Avery Anderson is returning home after announcing his decision to continue his career at TCU.

Anderson is taking his fifth year with the Horned Frogs.

He spent the past four years with Oklahoma State.

This past season for the Cowboys, the team went to the NIT and finished 20-16 overall. Anderson played and started in 22 games. He averaged 11.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 28.1 minutes. He shot 82.3 percent from the free throw line.

OSU went 15-15 in 2022 and 8-10 in the Big 12.

The Cowboys went 21-9 in 2021 and made it to the third round of the conference tourney. They beat Liberty 69-60 in the first round of the NCAA tournament and lost to Oregon State 80-70 in the Round of 32. Anderson scored 21 points against Liberty and 16 against Oregon State.

During his time with Northwest, he led the Texans to back-to-back trips to the UIL state tournament, including the state title game in 2018.

Anderson was a 4-star recruit and chose OSU over Florida, LSU, SMU, Texas Tech and Texas A&M. He was ranked No. 102 overall by 247Sports for the Class of 2019. ESPN ranked Anderson as the 17th best point guard in the country.

Anderson was District MVP as a junior and senior and is the all-time leading scorer at Northwest with 2,767 points. He averaged 22.7 points per game as a senior and 17.3 points as a junior.
