Where are they now? Webb named head coach, Craine joins football staff

Veronika Webb and Lauren Craine shared their new positions this week at Vernon College and TCU, respectively.

Webb, who graduated from Mansfield Summit, was named head volleyball coach.

Craine, who graduated from Aledo, joins the TCU football staff as director of on-campus recruiting.

Webb spent last season as an assistant coach for Vernon College. Prior to that, she played college volleyball at Texas Woman’s University, NCTC and Texas Wesleyan. At Wesleyan, she helped the team to the national tournament three years in a row. Some of Webb’s career accolades includes 2018 NJCAA Region 5 second team, 2018 NJCAA Region 5 all-tournament team, 2019 Sooner Athletic Conference second team, 2020 Sooner Athletic Conference second team, 2021 Sooner Athletic Conference first team, 2021 Sooner Athletic Conference all-tournament team and 2021 NAIA All-American.

Webb starred at Summit HS and was awarded district first team as a senior and junior. Both years, she led Summit in total blocks.

Craine played softball and graduated from North Texas.

During her time at Aledo HS, Craine was among the top players in the state. She won back-to-back state titles in 2014 and 2015 and reached the state tournament in 2013. As a senior, she was undefeated from the circle and named 5A state tournament MVP. As a senior and junior, Craine was TGCA all-state and TSWA 5A/4A player of the year.
